Maven — Support at Your Door is operated by CashCo Financial Inc., a Canadian company. In this policy, "Maven," "we," "us," and "our" refer to CashCo Financial Inc. and the Maven platform at lifewithmaven.app.

We are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of personal information:

Account Information

Name, email address, and phone number (if provided) when you create a Maven account or subscribe.

Payment Information

Payment details are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, CVVs, or full card details. We retain only Stripe customer and subscription identifiers.

Usage Information

How you interact with Maven services, including pages visited, features used, and support requests submitted through Chaos Support.

Communications

Messages you send us through Chaos Support, email, or other contact methods.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information to:

  • Provide and manage your Maven subscription and services (Milk Money, Chaos Support, Village community)
  • Process payments and manage billing through Stripe
  • Send transactional communications about your account and subscription status
  • Send marketing communications (only with your express consent under CASL)
  • Improve our services and develop new features
  • Respond to your support requests and inquiries
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Consent for Communications (CASL)

Under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), we obtain your consent before sending commercial electronic messages:

Express Consent

We ask for your express consent during signup through a clear, unchecked opt-in checkbox. You can opt in to receive marketing emails including Milk Money deal digests, community updates, tips, and promotional offers. Express consent does not expire unless you withdraw it.

Implied Consent

As an active Maven subscriber, we have implied consent under CASL Section 10(9) based on our existing business relationship. This implied consent lasts for 2 years after your last transaction or the end of your subscription.

Transactional Messages

Messages about your account, subscription status, payment confirmations, and service updates are transactional and exempt from CASL consent requirements.

5. Your Right to Unsubscribe

Every marketing email we send includes a clear unsubscribe link. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by contacting us at [email protected]. We will process your unsubscribe request within 10 business days as required by CASL. Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect transactional messages about your active subscription.

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only with:

  • Stripe — for payment processing (PCI DSS compliant)
  • Mailchimp — for email communications (only if you've consented)
  • Twilio — for SMS notifications related to your account
  • Service providers — who help us operate Maven, bound by confidentiality agreements
  • Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, or legal process

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information, including encrypted connections (TLS/SSL), secure payment processing through Stripe, access controls, and regular security reviews. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. After you cancel your subscription, we retain basic account information for up to 2 years (consistent with CASL implied consent periods) and financial records as required by Canadian tax law. You can request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.

9. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Withdrawal of consent — Withdraw your consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Complaint — File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada if you believe your rights have been violated

10. Children's Privacy

Maven is designed for adults managing household finances. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through a notice on our website. Your continued use of Maven after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
