The Feeling Engine
These aren't polished success stories. They're human stories — the tears before the triumph, the quiet courage in asking for help, the relief of knowing someone's on your side. Names use first name only to protect privacy. Their courage is real.

Maven Moments
Short snapshots of relief, gratitude, and humanity from our community.
I opened my door and honestly just laughed. There were nine rolls of toilet paper sitting there and the timing could not have been better because I had literally just run out. When I saw the Classico pasta sauce I smiled because that is my favorite. It really felt like someone actually thought about me — not just what I needed but what I like.
When my neighbour handed it to me I did not even open it right away. Just knowing there was food in there made my whole body relax. Every item felt like one less worry. Meals I did not have to plan. Groceries I did not have to stress about. It felt like someone stepping in and saying hey, you can breathe for a bit.
When I got the email saying my grocery box was on the way, I actually laughed. With six kids, I measure time in snacks and toilet paper rolls, so knowing help was coming felt like a small miracle. I joined Maven because I wanted to be part of something bigger than my little hometown, but smaller than the worries that seem to multiply faster than my kids do.
This week Rose did not get a box of groceries but she still got something she really needed. Time. She told us how good it felt to just talk and be listened to. Sometimes having someone simply show up and listen means more than anything you can put in a box.
I never thought toilet paper would make me emotional but here we are. I had been juggling bills, kids, and stress all week and the last thing I wanted was another thing to run out of. Seeing those rolls at my door felt like a small win in a week that did not have many.
I was officially in the danger zone. One roll left and it was doing its best but we both knew the end was near. Then the toilet paper showed up. Honestly it felt heroic. Never thought I would be this excited about bathroom supplies but Maven changed that.
When I actually unpacked all three boxes I was wowed by what was in them. Basics aren't so basic anymore — these are luxury for some. We are paying this box forward to a neighbour of ours who can hardly afford to buy these things right now. With a new baby and financial problems, this will go a long way for them. You're on to something here.
Today, out of nowhere, my neighbour walked over with a grocery box and gave it to me. I honestly stood there for a minute just staring at it. And then it hit me... someone actually thought about me. In a time where I've felt pretty invisible, that meant everything.
I would like to say I love the Maven Plus subscription. As being a full-time college student, funds are limited and now I do not have to worry about breakfast!
What really sticks with us in these moments is not just the items themselves. It is how they make people feel. Relief. Comfort. Feeling seen. Being able to breathe again. Sometimes a few groceries or some toilet paper carry way more than we think. They carry care.
